Best Night Routine Ideas
1. Set The Space
First things first, set your space!
Dim the lights, make yourself a warm drink, and get into something comfy.
Some people find calming scents like lavender help them get in a relaxed mood.
Putting lavender essential oil in a diffuser can really set the mood for relaxation.
This one is super affordable and has amazing reviews.
2. Read Affirmations
Affirmations are said to help us become more confident and fight negative thoughts by reinforcing good thoughts about ourselves.
Starting off the evening with positive affirmations is a great way to get us in a good mindset for the rest of the evening.
Below are some printable affirmations that you can have near your bed to repeat each evening. Our brain is so powerful so it’s good if we fill it with positive thoughts.
3. Try Out Some Coloring Books
Sounds silly to color as an adult, but there are actually some really cool adult coloring books out there.
This can be super calming and fun to do in the evening. You can even do it while watching a show or listening to a podcast.
It’s a great way to activate the creative side of your brain while still relaxing and having fun.
4. Get a Massage
Who doesn’t love a good massage after a long day? Getting a massage from your partner is a great way to connect and spend time together.
A massage is an amazing way to relax, especially after a long day!
No partner around? No problem! They have amazing massagers online which feel AMAZING and are reasonably priced.
This is the one I bought and absolutely love! I love using it while watching a show, it’s such an amazing way to wind down and get your body relaxed for bed.

5. Give Yourself a Mani/Pedi
Getting a mani/pedi is such a great way to pamper yourself, especially after a long day.
But if you don’t have the time or feel like spending the money, you can do a DIY mani/pedi at home.
You can get as extra with this as you want, but I always loved using a foot spa when giving myself a pedicure. It always felt so much more salon-like and was a really great form of self care.
They also have electric foot callus removers for ultra soft feet that feel like they just came from the salon.
6. Journal
So many people recommend journaling, and there’s good reason for that. Journaling is a great way to unwind and write out your thoughts.
Sometimes writing out your thoughts can really help you sort through certain feelings and solve problems easier.
I personally like guided journals because I don’t always know what to write about and I like having a guide to follow.
Gratitude journals are especially great during a night routine because it can help you reflect on your day and feel gratitude towards your life.
This one has amazing reviews and people seem to really enjoy it!

7. Enjoy Your Skincare
If you’re someone who really loves skincare, you could include it in your relaxing night routine. You can really take your time and enjoy it.
If you want to get really extra you could give yourself an at home facial. This can be super relaxing and a great form of self care.
There are tons of ways to give yourself an at home facial but my fav is to use a facial steamer and then a face mask.
A facial steamer feels SO luxurious and can really make your skin look hydrated and glowy.
This one has amazing reviews!
8. Take a Relaxing Bath or Shower
I swear there’s nothing more relaxing than a warm bath or shower. It’s so incredibly soothing and such a great add on to a night routine.
This is when you can take your time and really pamper yourself. Pull out your favorite exfoliator, hair mask, face mask, and bubble bath.
9. Start a Side Hustle
If you’re looking to have more of a productive night routine then you could include something like starting a side hustle. This might seem intimidating but isn’t if you take it slow and have fun with it.
Try taking just 10 minutes in the evening to work on it, that way it doesn’t seem too overwhelming. Start off by just researching different side hustles, and if you find one you like, you can look into it more.

Stretching is great for our bodies but it can be hard to find the time to fit it in our busy schedules.

Lowering the lights and making yourself a warm drink to have while you stretch can really make it a fun experience.
13. Pick Up a New Hobby
If there’s a new hobby you’ve been wanting to try out, why not take a couple minutes in your evening routine and try it out.

14. Plan for Tomorrow
One of the best things you can do for yourself during your evening routine is to plan for tomorrow.
Not only will this make you feel like you accomplished something, but it can make your next day SO much better.
Try planning out things that you think will make your day easier like planning your schedule, planning your outfit, and planning your meals.
It may seem overwhelming to plan too much at first so start off with one thing first, like planning your outfit, and then it will become second nature.
15. Learn Something New
No matter how old we are we should always strive to learn because it’s amazing for our minds and makes us feel great.
Take a couple minutes in your night routine to learn a new language, learn some geography, or anything else you’re interested in.
Try and make it fun by using a fun app or watching educational videos.
16. Go For a Walk
Going for a walk and breathing in fresh air can do wonders for our body and mood.
Walks are fantastic at helping with stress and can help us clear our minds.
It’s especially great to try and fit in a walk if you’re particularly sedentary throughout the day.
17. Listen to a Podcast
There are tons of really great podcasts out there covering hundreds of different topics so there really is something for everyone.

You could also listen to a podcast while you’re cooking, cleaning, or going for a walk.
18. Spend Time with Family or Call a Loved One
Calling or spending time with a loved one can makes us feel so good and it’s a fantastic thing to add into a night routine.
You could spend time with family at dinner, go out to a movie together, or even just go for a walk together.
If you’re unable to see them in person, video chatting is also a great option. And if time is an issue, you could always call or video chat while you’re cooking or doing other things.
19. Do a Quick Tidy
Your future self will thank you so much if you do a quick tidy each night before bed. This doesn’t have to be long, even 10-15 minutes is better than nothing.
Not only will this make you feel great going to bed knowing that you tidied up, but you’ll also feel great when you wake up to a tidy home.
