Best Tips on How to Keep Your Room Clean
1. Create a cleaning schedule
The key to creating a good cleaning routine is finding what works for you and then sticking with it!
A cleaning schedule is a great way to create a cleaning routine that works best for you.
A cleaning schedule can help you decide what day works best to clean your room and what areas to start with.
When setting the schedule, make sure that there are enough days in between each clean so that things don’t get too dirty before they can be cleaned again (but not so many days between each clean that it gets too disorganized).
If you find cleaning your entire room in one day too overwhelming, you can also use a cleaning schedule to break up cleaning tasks into different days.
Try using a blank cleaning schedule like the one linked below so you can write out your own cleaning schedule that works for you. You can print it as many times as you want or use it digitally!
2. Be consistent
Set aside time each week so that cleaning becomes a habit.
Easier said than done I know, but the more you do it, the easier it will be to stick to it.
If you don’t, it will be much harder to keep your room clean. You’ll end up with a messy room, and then you’ll have to spend more time cleaning it than if you had just started on time.
That’s why it’s important to set a schedule for cleaning your room and stick to it!

3. Invest in storage
Storage is a super easy way to keep your room clean and organized.
When everything in your room has a place, it makes it sooo much easier to put things away quickly and easily.
You can find really good and affordable storage solutions online that come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
You could go with something as simple as baskets or bins that fit under your bed or along the wall—but if you’re feeling ambitious (and want something fancier), there are plenty of styles out there that won’t break your budget
4. Use a timer
On days where you really feel lazy or don’t have much time, try using a timer and clean for a certain amount of time.
Try setting your timer for 10 or 15 minutes and tell yourself you will stop once the timer stops.
This makes it seem way less overwhelming and most of the time you’ll probably just keep cleaning once the timer goes off because you’ll already be in a cleaning mode.
And you’d be surprised at how much cleaning you can get done in 10 or 15 minutes.
It sounds silly but some people (myself included) become way more productive and motivated when you can visually see the time going down.
I absolutely love timers like this for that reason. Not sure why, but seeing the time like this makes me work harder to get more done before the time runs out.
5. Keep extra supplies handy
Having good cleaning supplies on hand will help keep you motivated to clean.
When you have products that work well and that are close by, it’ll be a lot easier for you to clean.
Having a cleaning caddy filled with good products close by makes it soooo much easier to clean.

6. Make putting things away part of your daily routine.
Try really hard to make a habit of putting things away as soon as you’re done using them.
This is where having good storage solutions can make things a lot easier.
Put things away right where they belong. If your room has a specific place for everything, try to put everything back where it was when possible—this will help keep your room from getting cluttered.
7. Clean up right after you’re done using something.
Cleaning up right away is the easiest way to clean your room. When you’re done with something, put it away and clean up any mess that was made.
This way, when you come back into the room later, there will be less to do.
Even things like a quick vacuum or sweep takes only seconds and can make a big difference.
If you don’t clean up right away, then you’ll have to spend twice as much time cleaning your room later on.
If this happens often enough, then it will become harder to keep your room clean.
8. Reward yourself after
It can be pretty hard to find the motivation to clean so try to get motivated by promising yourself a reward after you clean your room.
This can be as simple as having a piece of chocolate, or something bigger like getting your nails done or going out to lunch with friends.
This will also help you associate cleaning with something fun which will also make it easier to get motivated.
