Best Tips on How to Clean Your House Fast
1. Gather all your cleaning supplies in one place
If you want to know how to clean your house in one day, the first step is to gather all your cleaning supplies in one place. This makes it easier to quickly grab whatever you need during the cleaning process and keeps everything organized.
You should make sure to have all the basics such as a vacuum cleaner, mop, broom, sponges, scrubbing brushes, dusters, glass cleaners, and any other cleaning products that you use regularly.
If you don’t already have a designated spot for your cleaning supplies, create one so that you can easily grab what you need when needed. This will save you time when it comes to cleaning your house.
It also helps to purchase cleaning supplies that are versatile and easy to carry around.
I like cordless vacuums, spray mops and steam mops like the ones below for this reason, they are super lightweight and easy to use.
2. Do a quick tidy first
Before you start cleaning, it’s a good idea to tidy up anything that is out of place.
Grab a bin and throw everything in there that is in the wrong spot and put everything back in it’s proper home.
It’ll feel a lot less overwhelming to clean when there aren’t a bunch of random things laying around.

3. Move on to the kitchen
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in your house to keep clean. If you’re looking to clean your house in one day, starting with the kitchen is a great way to get going.
I find starting off with the dishes is the best. Empty or load the dishwasher and wash whatever needs to be washed by hand.
Then start wiping down all surfaces, such as countertops, stove tops, and tables. Use a damp cloth and an all-purpose cleaner to make sure everything gets a thorough cleaning.
Give a quick wipe to the outside of appliances and cabinets, and inside if you have time.
If you have tile floors, give them a sweep and mop.
If you have time, wipe down all door handles and light switches.
Finally, take out the trash if there is any.
4. Next on to the living room
The living room is usually the main hang-out spot in the house, so it’s important to give it a thorough clean.
Start by doing a quick dusting of all surfaces and vacuuming or sweeping the floor.
Vacuuming and steaming couches and chairs are a great way to keep them clean and looking good.
The Little Green is such an amazing machine! It’s a portable carpet and upholstery cleaner which makes it super easy to clean your carpet and couch. I absolutely love this machine and it’s so much cheaper than hiring a professional to clean your couch and carpet.
If you have time you can then you can move on to the bigger tasks like cleaning windows and wiping down walls.
Be sure to also move furniture to get those hard-to-reach places.

Don’t forget to wipe down all mirrors, windows, and other glass surfaces.

Cleaning the bathrooms is probably one of the most tedious tasks of cleaning the house.
To make it easier and faster, try to tackle it in sections.
Start by spraying the sink, countertops, mirror, and shower with whichever cleaner you are using and let it sit a couple minutes.
While you are letting that sit, clean the toilet.
I love using disposable toilet cleaners because it makes cleaning the toilet WAY easier. And you don’t have to deal with that yucky toilet brush!
Then wipe down the shower, sink, mirror, and countertops.
For super stubborn areas I love using a steam machine like this one below. I use it in my bathroom and absolutely love it! It’s a great way to clean any stubborn areas naturally.
